It is a shame that there are editors who actively go around and edit out the 'thanks' in posts. Regardless of whether or not it is 'good form' for those seeking help to thank those who help them on a QA site, having one's post edited in such a manner is only going to make them less likely to contribute to a site that already has a hostile reputation. Those who remove the thanks do so under the guise of helping the community, while actively harming it.
