The third post in the Code Explorer series is about the UI and main VM.

This is the XAML, except a few hundred lines of styling:

The use of .FirstOrDefault makes it look like commands could possibly have more than one instance of each command which, if that's the case, would indicate a bug with whoever is injecting that List<ICommand>, which could really be an IReadOnlyList<ICommand>, since you're iterating it multiple times, but you're not interested in adding or removing items.

Using .SingleOrDefault would not only better convey the idea that it's only supposed to find one, it would also throw an InvalidOperationException if that's not the case, and that would put a problem under the spotlight - a problem that may or may not exist right now, that using FirstOrDefault potentially hides.


When you're determining the PanelTitle value...

You're using the DeclarationType enum's string representation, which is its name as it appears in code. This should be a localized string instead.

Comparing VBProject object instances like this is known to be unreliable, you should be comparing ProjectId values instead. And again, why First when you only expect to match one?
