Also, instead of joining Movie and Cast tables twice, just use the range as m.year BETWEEN 1850 AND 1950 because that is essentially what you are trying to achieve.

same thing from your other question, use joins instead of where except for m1.year BETWEEN 1850 AND 1900 and m2.year BETWEEN 1901 AND 1950;
