May 29, 2014 at 21:27 | comment | added | 200_success | @Malachi Unit tests are always the first step in refactoring: "Before applying a refactoring to a section of code, a solid set of automatic unit tests is needed." That's how you ensure that you didn't break anything during the refactoring.

Names are confusing, collections not having plural etc... Does a NotifyOrganizationChartType message target a domain entity. You seem to be missing an aggregate. What does the collection of organizationChart s that is the notifyOrganizationChartType.DataArea.OrganizationChart signify in the domain, to the user for example?

Jul 25, 2013 at 15:52 | comment | added | Lstor | I know, that's why I suggest the rewording :) Otherwise I would have just downvoted.

Jul 25, 2013 at 15:50 | comment | added | Antarr Byrd | @Lstor I'm not asking anyone to write my unit test just to help make the code more testable. I hope I didn't give you that impression.
Jul 25, 2013 at 15:30 | comment | added | Lstor | 1. I'd change the wording in your question. "Please help me refactor" gives the impression that you want other people to do your work for you. 2. I recommend reading the book Working Effectively with Legacy Code by Michael Feathers for tips on how to introduce tests to a codebase.
