On Code Review, we only review code that works correctly as intended, so your bad example would have to be removed. Furthermore, please provide a clearer picture of what this code accomplishes. (What do you really want to do with the results? console.log() seems like a silly example.) It's hard to advise you when we don't have an example of the DOM that this code is working with.
