Aug 28, 2012 at 16:20 comment added Nick Pascucci Great, thanks for taking the time to look at this! - While this is certainly not an optimal encoding scheme, it wasn't ever meant to be; the key feature of this is simplicity. - You've got a very good point about not being able to detect packet endings; I'll go ahead and add that in. - Since the wire format specifies byte-delimited fields, I think uint8_t is more appropriate than unsigned char as it forces 8-bit elements. - The two checks for buffer too small are for input and output buffers. I'm taking another look to see what could be pulled into functions. Again, thanks for your help!
