Thanks for your code I will look at it a bit more, it gives the coloumn letter which is good but seems i will need to learn a bit more about the Cells function for it to work the way I need it to

Thanks for your answer @Raystafarian, i use sCol = Split(ActiveCell.address,"$")(1) as it gives the letter of a column instead of the number and other code I have found to convert it it from number to letter doesnt fit well, least not the ones I found. I am currently updating the code with yours and Zak's suggestion and will put the code up when it is done
