I'm currently working on a platform for healthcare interoperability, based on BizTalk and its HL7 accelerator. I'm also involved in the development of a billing application for Belgian hospitals, specifically implementing and maintaining the rule engine part (based on Drools).

I also worked during 10 years on the implementation of electronic patient records (EPR), and I was a key developer/architect for DocuLive EPR, the main EPR system in Scandinavia.

DocuLive is currently the only solution fully supporting the installation of complete paperless solutions for big hospitals. It has more than 40.000 users in Norway and Denmark alone. With more than 2.000.000 patient records, it handles medical data for close to half of the Norwegian population.

I worked on medical applications in several countries, long enough to know how clinical documentation systems are dealt with differently in each of them. Currently, I have worked in: Belgium (6 years), Norway (10 years), United States (1 year), and Denmark (1 year).

I'm a skydiver, a glider pilot and I'm currently trying to get a PPL(A).
