MRU, without using RegistryKeyPermissionCheck.ReadWriteSubTree

Question

I got this code through internet and it works fine. The testing team according to the code, it the user has permission to wtite then it wont work. Is it true with this code?? RegistryKey rK = Registry.CurrentUser.CreateSubKey(this.SubKeyName, RegistryKeyPermissionCheck.ReadWriteSubTree);

Is it possible to write MRU(Most Recently Used) without using ReadWriteSubTree??
